After watching LA Confidential I was reflecting on how I used to love watching these types of movies and shows with my mum as a kid.

Humans freakin love crime media, but crime movies don't feel like much of a "thing" anymore, as they were 20+ years ago. 

My feeling is that for a while there was an overwhelming amount of procedural police TV shows, and movies lost out as a medium amongst the noise. And then these shows themselves lost out to a million true-crime podcasts and documentaries.

As a grown up media savvy human, all I can notice now is that the pervasive theme of these shows is almost always; Police Incompetence. 

If I didn't laugh I'd cry.
